So I like this bar a lot. But this place could use some MAJOR re-vamping. However, the bar staff is fun and friendly. The people may seem intimidating at first but are very friendly. The location is ehhh.
They have one pool table (darts in the back?... hell maybe I was drunk), and an outside patio area where people smoke or whatever.
Always a good place to start or end a night if you ask me. Especially since it is down a couple blocks from First Street, you will probably get much better parking!
When I want to have a good time and a good drink I ALWAYS go to the good time tavern. Yes it is small but that has never been an issue for myself, my fiance or the any of the other people you can consider "regulars". The bartenders are all friendly. The drinks are great, happy hour specials rock. There is a pool table, a dart board and you can smoke outside and bring your beer. The music on the Jukebox is upbeat and puts me in a great mood. There is always a variety of sports on the 4 T.Vs for the gentlemen and did I mention they also have food? They have a full "bar food" menu and most everything on there is good. I love the lava art work on the back wall. Just last week they had drink specials and other incentives to raise money for Breast Cancer awareness. I don't have a single complaint and as for cliquey, you have to make a point of talking to people you don't know, just like anywhere else. It is a wonderful neighborhood bar. They have done so much to fix the place up. I Highly recommend it! As a matter of fact a drink sounds pretty good right about now.
Cheap drinks. Quaint little bar. If you love Hip Hop, Good Times has a lovely jukebox selection. May I suggest a little Wu-Tang, Wu-Tang :) Bartenders are great. Good Vibe.

A 5 star neighborhood bar. A notch above a dive I guess. Everytime we come here, there's always sports on the TV, some good tunes on the jukebox and some amazing drink specials. My wife and I drank all we could and barely cracked $30 including a generous tip. It's the kind of place where strangers play pool with each other. Added bonus: They have an outdoor smoking area that's close by and you can still see the game on the big plasma while you smoke. They open at 5:30 pm so don't leave work early to get here.

Very cliquey, like high school. If you aren't there every night people aren't friendly,

What time is it?! Good Times!!
Very fun bar. Their name says it all. If you want a good time and some beer, and you happen to be in Livermore, check this place out!
the not so good time tavern.
went here last night for the first time in over a year. now remember why i avoided it. besides the fact that its like a bad high school reunion (that's not there fault). it was cramped, and way to loud. your packed in there w/ barely and moving room and having to scream in your friends ear just to have a conversation. so you end up having to go outside just to talk. they have a tent thing which i guess is nice when its raining, but it also traps in all cigarette smoke. i wasn't smoking and woke up w/ the sorest throat and smelled like i had smoked a pack.
oh and please please take that annoying music off the jukebox.
i truly didn't have a good time and neither did my friends i went there with. before i completely write this place off, i will check it out on a week night. (hints 2 stars)
on a good note, my drink was good. which is more than i can say for the last time i was there.

I really like this place, especially during happy hour. The owners, Justin and Scott are huge sports fans, and there is always a game on TV. There's usually a couple of happy hour specials that vary day-to-day, but two dollar pints are common. Late nights (after 10:00) the place fills up with a young, twenty-something crowd. The place is small and cozy, and the beautiful wood paneling gives it a warm, comfortable atmosphere. All in all, an excellent neighborhood bar for downtown Livermore.
