Why did it take me so long to finally come to The Pizza Place when its right in my old neighborhood! gosh I've missed out on many pizza nights. I absolutely love their crust! nice and crisp. compared to other pizza joints their pizza is slightly more oily. It did take awhile for the pizza to cook, but it was worth the wait. the painted mural outside is pretty awesome. I like the name too... it sorta confuses people. =D
did i write a review about this place yet?
They have a car on the wall that has pizzas as wheels!! 4stars already for that!!
this place has a very Haight Street feel.....you know, kinda owned by hippy hipsters, cool people covered in tattoos and piercings that sell healthy pizzas.
Pretty good, you order at the counter and they bring it to you, personally i liked their salads more than the pizza, the pizza is kinda too healthy for me, we got the veggie one, no meat, either that or ALL meat, i didnt want to be constipated..so we went with the veggies. BUT pizza IS supposed to be junk foody, it just didnt have the right feel.
Im writing this as i am watching the olympix, i hope i didnt type anything wrong. WOW , no typos!

What can I say that other reviewers haven't said before. Best pizza in SF. Hands down.
Pizza, beer, appetizers, and salads are all top notch. Perfect atmosphere on weekend nights when everyone is loud and boozed up, but be prepared to wait 30 mins or so for a table.

Their pizza and salad are delicious. However, you must eat the pizza within 15 minutes of it coming out of the oven or it becomes a greasy, soggy mess. Minus one star for that because I actually love eating cold pizza but can't eat this one cold.

Pizza by the slice is suh a bonus... Pies are so damn expensive in this town and there is no way you can put oone of theirs down by yourself or even two.. enjoy a slice or two with a cold one and leave home happy!
Went back with my parents for dine in (instead of take-out). Pizza seemed to take awhile, but boy was it worth the wait! The Dimitiri that we had was simply amazing. My parents said that the next time they visit SF, that we MUST come back :)
Anyway the service could have been slightly better, but they where pretty busy, and the food easily made up for it.
ps- the sign on the building is HUGE now :)

I only ordered take-out, but the place is big. Definately a place i'd goto to sit down and eat.

There are a few restaurants near my residence in the Outer Sunset. I'll try my best to update on all those other places, but let's start with good 'ol pizza joint. First off, their pizza is good. Flat crust, crunchy (I like teh crunchy), and it just takes too dang long. Wait here...I come back, it's still not here. Tick Tock. Well, duhhh, it's pizza. Pizza takes time and patience to cook a great tasting pizza. Although, it doesn't taste too different from some other pizza I've tasted.
Holding up rifle, ready, aim...shoot...BANG. There goes the star fall down. oops. I hit the 4th one. That looks odd. I might as well shoot the 5th star because they took away Dean's Deli. For those of you that don't know, Dean's Deli was like the sandwich shop you grow up with. The kids from the neighborhood would work there. The nice lady who made sandwiches would smile...blah blah blah. It's GONE! BANG BANG!. Dang, missed the third one, out of bullets. Oh well. 3 for you guys!
We were looking for a new pizza place to try and hubby mentioned this place. So I read some reviews and decided it's worth trying.
We got a medium with ham and pineapple and a slice of sausage, mushroom, artichoke and jalapeno. My slice came first and I immediately had reservations. It's piled high with mushroom, artichoke and jalapeno. However, they all looked cold and raw. They were! Apparently, they were thrown on an already made slice of sausage pizza and then heated up briefly in the oven. The pizza itself tasted like morning after pizza from the fridge. It's probably the worst pizza I ever had.
Then the medium pizza arrived, piping hot. The crust was nicely done and toppings generous. This was definitely redemption from the slice.
It's a good neighborhood place. If I live close by, I can see myself coming here when I have a pizza craving. However, not good enough for me to drive across Sunset for.
When you do go, remember to order the whole pie and don't bother with slices.

So they forgot my order of buffalo wings. I should have checked before leaving, but no, I didn't. Lesson learned, check your order before leaving. Yeah they were polite and apologized about it but still! Damn it! I'm just peeved that I had to drive back TWICE, once to place the order and second to get my damn chicken.
Yeah I drove back for buffalo wings, but if it were on a credit card I would have simply asked for a refund but I paid cash. So I'm getting my $7.00 worth of buffalo wings!
Obviously driving out of my way from Daly City to Noriega for their pizza, is a big statement. They are good! So good I drove 20 minutes out of the way to get it. I passed a Dominio's, a Pizza Hut, and another pizza shop. I'm lusting for that thin crust pizza. A hot cheesy and oozing piece of pie....*drools* I could do a slice of cheese pizza at the moment. Sometimes, simplicity is the best.

Nothing flashy, nothing great. Just a solid pizza place near the beach. The buffalo wings, cauliflower, salads, etc. etc. are also nothing to write home about - that's why this review is not being sent to my Mom. But, the service was very good, and the environment is pleasant enough.
I'm in love. One less star for not delivering.
I love this place, I haven't been in awhile but when ever i crave a NY style piece of pizza I always think of this place first, considering that I'm a new englander and so are the owners. U can see all the Celtic's stuff everywhere.
The chicken wings and side salads are a huge plus so don't forget those, what am I talking about? Don't forget the pitchers of beer either and if you are low on cash they also have pbr by the pitcher, another huge plus in my book.
Everyone who works here treats you like a human being and not just another customer, they all have their own distinctive personality and i think it really helps with the overall atmosphere of the place.

What kind of name is The Pizza Place on Noriega? I drove all the way up and down Noriega street just to find this place and finally found it on the 3rd pass...
Ok, not really, I walked there from my friends house a few blocks away who raved about this place. We stumbled back after a few to many PBR's from the tap.
This place is great, I live in the NOPA area and drive out here just for pizza on more than one occasion. The people who own it and work there are all cool, the customers are chill and you get to see the ocean and beach while your out there. You can even get a pizza and walk to the beach to eat it!
The best thing on the menu isn't really on the menu but just ask for it. The Dimitri (on the menu) ask for jalapenos and hot sauce on the side, they have tapatio in the back which goes on this pizza great. I also suggest you order a medium over a large as for some reason they seem to turn out a bit better.
If they could only expand and get a back patio I would give this place a 5 stars.
Forget the pizza, there's another great reason to check out this place-the dudes. Where else can you find a bunch of hot straight guys that live in the hood? Seeing as it serves beer as well as pizza, it also doubles as a great alternative local hang. Yum. Yum. Yum. Wait, dont tell everyone ;-)

First off, what are people talking about, no sign? There's a big sign on the side of the building - strange. Anyways... (okay, looking at the pics, I guess the sign is new - Yay!)
I feel like I've discovered a gem in my 'hood. Unfortunately, it has been slow going for me in discovering quality eating establishments in the Sunset. There are definitely some good ones (Koo, Park Chow, PPQ, etc...), but not many I would go to regularly (once a week or every other week) like there were when I lived in the Mission.
I must say, I'm going to need to fight the urge to go to the Pizza Place on Noriega. I mean, if I want to keep my somewhat girlish figure, that is. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars yet, is because I need to return at least once to see if it lives up to its mythical status I've given it after my first visit. I have to be sure it wasn't just that I was *really* hung over and exactly what I needed was a Trumer and a couple of slices of the incredibly spicy Rotten Robby.
I thought the service was fine, and mellow. The clientele seemed way cool. And the music (Rolling Stones) was what you'd expect for a surf hangout (took me back to my days on Huntington as a teenager). I'm nostalgic, and the Pizza Place is just what I needed.

After hearing so much about this place, I finally got out there last week. Passing by, you would never think that it's a pizza joint. Inside you will see surfer dudes and dudettes, families, and servers that look like they can tell you when to use a long or short board. I liked the decor of the place, as it can only fit for a place by the beach. But it was so loud that I couldn't hear much of what my friend was saying, even when I had to turn my good ear trying to hear what she had to say. For those that don't know, I blew my right ear out at a shooting range years ago.
I must confess that I am not a big fan of sweet potato, as a potato to me, shouldn't be "sweet", but salty. But these sweet potato fries are the best I've ever had! Served with buffalo sauce, ranch maybe, and carrot and onion sticks. I thought I was going to get all the celery, since my friend doesn't care for that vegetable. But there she was, chomping on the green stick comprised mostly of water. I much preferred the buffalo sauce, as that's how I roll.
I know that Iceberg Lettuce is an abomination, but it was a HOT day, even at the coast, and it just seemed like the thing to do. I am sure the lettuce was packaged, as it had all the necessary stuff ... shredded carrots and sliced radish. The blue cheese dressing and walnuts made the salad come together. Suck up your hatred and order it.
We had the Besto Pizza which had Pesto, Feta and Potato slices. Maybe it had garlic, but I couldn't taste it. It was very good, but VERY greasy. I'm not sure where it came from, but I assume it was the pesto. In looking around, I didn't see that much oil on other pizzas, like cheese, or other combinations. I'd like to go back and try others. The Spicoli "with double cheese and sausage" sounds too good to pass up.
Seeing some children brought back memories. Several of them were very blond, as I was when I was very young. Many people passing by were just coming from the beach, or heading out to hit the last waves for the day.
For once, we didn't have to satisfy our craving by hitting Little Star, even though it's all the way across town.

Was referred here by a client of mine!! Thank you Kate! And of course after the referral i had to check it out on yelp it passed all my criteria... ordered to go a large Timmy's Pizza (vegan style)... Let me tell you it was DELICIOUS!! I am usually a thick crust pizza kind of girl, which was why i was a little hesitant to try it, but the crust was actually the best part. It was nice and crunchy, good texture and flavor and i loved the toppings on this vegan pizza!!
A large is HUGE!! For $22.00 you cannot go wrong! Definitely will be ordering again!
Too bad they dont deliver... oh well cant have it all right?!
This place is unreal. I've been living out here for about 4 months and never discovered it until my friend came by with some magical flowers. We smoked some of the flowers and then went to pick up our half/half pizza. It almost felt like a dream. The whole time I was thinking my friend must have slipped some fairy dust into those flowers we smoked.
When I was lit, it was awesome. When I was sober, it was awesome.

Not many places serve up great great sweet potato fries (let alone, offer it), and "iceberg salad" never sounds appealing. Needless to say, I was skeptical. But they both ended up being great starters. The large chunks of potatoes were really good. I'd have finished the entire plate, but knew I had to save room for their main attraction of thin crust pizza. The salad was light, as expected, but the walnuts and dressing were enough topping to not make it feel like a waste of a dish.
We had the Besto (Timmy's Pie is their similar vegan version). I'm a fan of pesto, but this pie also included round potato slices embedded in the feta; its crispy edges along with the garlic flavoring made this a standout. While I didn't enjoy that the bottom was saturated with oil, I came to appreciate it later on; the grease provided a nice coating to the stomach, saving me from complete inebriation after a night of drinking.
The Pizza Place is what any good pizza parlor should be--a wide selection of tasty pies and beverages (beer and wine, included), friendly service from grungy looking guys, funky decor (check out the motorized pizza wheeled car!), and a casual atmosphere, suitable for family dining. Unfortunately, along with other businesses in the area that I've enjoyed, its location in the far reaches of the Sunset will prevent me from frequenting more often.

Best East Coast Pizza in San Fran. The title used to belong to Arinele's in the Mission -- no mas. As a Jersey native, I know pizza and this is as good as it gets in SF.

Hey guy this pizza fucking RULES. Growing up in Boston I was skeptical about this at first but it tastes just like papa ginos! ya rememba that place sully? Yeah this is authentic all right. Sure the price isn't as cheap as Boston but I didn't expect that, not that it's expensive but I don't see 2 large pizzas for 8.88 on the menu pal. You definitely have to get the pizza in the authentic ways though. No fancy topping heah, cheese or pepparoni only..what ah ya queah foah orderin vegetables guy?
I read about this place place recently and couldn't wait to try it out as my husband and I were both born and raised in New England. We've been out here collectively 30 years and have never found a pizza place that quite did it for us, Amici's probably being the closest. One bite into the pizza and we both felt right at home. Wicked good pizza, low maintenance environment. Everyone is super nice. The one downside was the wait for a pizza was an hour plus at 6:15 pm...the reason for 4 stars, not 5.
Enjoyed the pizza and the atmosphere. A nice outer sunset vibe to go with your slice and beer. Extra credit for Chevy on the wall with the pepperoni pizza wheels spinning round and round...
In addition to the pizza, we tried the antipasto plate, and it was delicious. The herbed bread that comes with it is warm, and the cheese is served in cubes rather than slices.
Check it out!
Best most flavorful pizza i ever tasted! Also anyone wants to kick it up a notch, ask for the homemade ranch dressing. Gangster pizza spot!

If you've been on an endless, relentless search for classic New York style chicken wings ever since you left the East Coast, search no more, The Pizza Place has great wings and they taste just like those wings flew all the way from the big apple......yummy...
And like many other yelpers, I agree that the pizza is pretty darn good. A little greasy and it takes awhile but you can't beat the thin crust...
So why three stars? --No TV! That's why! How could a bar/pizza joint not have a TV to watch the Olympics? Or even worse, depriving innocent patrons of the World Series!
We met some good friends and fellow yelpers here for dinner.
We drove by it and back again because there is actually no signage here. What a great place. What i really liked was the eclectic mix of people here.
The four of us ordered the Dimitri. A Large is huge! With the four of us, we actually had 3 pieces of pizza left over.
It was great pizza with good service.
One of the negatives was that the music that was playing, although great music, was just a bit too loud. It made it a bit tough to hear other people talking.
Not a big menu, but a good menu for a good, and not to pricey dinner or lunch. The perfect ending of the meal was the root beer float! YUM

WHAT I LOVE
Marinated olives as an appetizer. I LOVE OLIVES & only $2.00
Delicious sweet potato steak fries
Awesome thin crust pizza, Rotten Robby, Spicoli, Timmy's (veg)
Good selection of beers.
Huge loyal following.
A couple of blocks from the beach. Could make for a great picnic on a not windy day.
SURFER DRESSED IN 70'S DENIM PATCHWORK BELLBOTTOMS WITH A FAKE FUR WHITE VEST, NO SHIRT, AND A NEWSBOY CAP-PRICELESS
WHAT I DON'T LOVE
So noisy you can't hear yourself think.
I am a sunset native so my loves of the place will always override the noise level here.
authentic, east coast pizza. It was crispy, the cheese was quality, the sauce was zesty. i'll be back for a meatball grinder soon boys.

Damn you'd never know where this place was if you didn't look hard for it. There's no obvious sign. We just had to guess.
Continuing our search for good pizza and good sweet potato fries (similar to the ones we had at House of Blues in Anaheim)...we decided to come here.
This place is really plain and simple. We ordered the sweet potato steak fries, which came with celery and carrot sticks. The buffalo sauce is soooo sour, but its good! The fries were great...must've been baked first. Mmm..they were salted, not too much, but just right.
We also ordered the Rotten Robby after reading reviews about how good it is. We loveee pesto on our pizza, so it was perfect! We decided to add black olives to it though. The jalapeno's gave it a little extra kick, as well.
Love Chicago style deep dish, but this was some pretty good New York style. Would def come back here again, maybe to try the Grinder's.
Saw this place reviewed in the paper today, so decided to try their grinder (sub) for lunch. It was good - not great. Staff was great - not good. A but hard to find as there is no sign out front. Gotta try their pizza - need a good pizza place out in the Sunset!

The pizza here is good and the salad is pretty good too. The employees are nice. What makes it really great is that it's near the beach.
Better than cheap chain pizza and simpler than fancy "gourmet' pizzas. It's regular pizza with good ingredients with no gimmicks. They also have a nice selection of beers.

Best pizza in San Francisco. Period.
If you can find it, go. Try the pizza and see what I'm saying.
This place has managed to re-produce the pizza I ate growing up just outside of Boston, so I think it's great. They even have "grinders" (that's Boston talk for Sub sandwich).
Great atmosphere and friendly staff make this a comfortable place when you want a great slice of pizza.

Yummy pizza! Their style of pizza reminds me of pizza back in Jersey. Thin crust and greasy. Just perfect! Be sure to ask "BY THE SLICE." You can even add toppings to your big slice.
Try their hot wings, too! They're crispy and pretty hot but just a little salty. WARNING: Do not dip wings into the blue cheese dressing. I repeat, do not dip wings into the blue cheese dressing if you know what's good for you.

I have been here for the "Timmy's Pie," which is their vegan option. It is pretty good, topped with tasty potato slices. Yum. Baked to order, so it may take a while. If you want faster service, you can call in advance (this doesn't apply to their regular cheese pizza, which can be bought quickly by the slice.)
Eureka! Delicious east coast style pizza in the Sunset.
The Pizza Place is a bit of a neighborhood dive. No disrespect intended, but let's say it's not a trendy spot. That's fine with us. We go for the food - and this is some of the best pizza we've had in the City. Thin East Coast style crust with beautifully balanced toppings. Add to that delicious, fresh salads - our favorite was the iceberg with walnuts and blue cheese dressing. The selection of beer on tap that demonstrates these folks know their beer.
The staff was helpful, reasonably attentive and pleasant. The only suggestion we can make to the folks at The Pizza Place on Noriega is why not open a branch on the peninsula - Menlo Park perhaps? - then we wouldn't have to wait until we visit relatives in the City before we visit again. You guys know your stuff!
Ok, I've been here twice now! If you want a cool place to get pizza and $2.00 beer come here! It's the most Gourmet Pizza in the Sunset! Not to mention eye candy.... no, not women GUYS! Surfers and handsome wait staff.
I love it!
Get the Cauliflower and the Iceberg Salad!
The large pizza is darn big, but the pizza isn't all that great. The crust is tasteless and the bottom is soggy. The toppings don't taste fresh at all. I got the veggie pizza.
The next time I got the margarita pizza and it was waaaay better. The crust was actually crisp on the bottom and not soggy. I'd recommend limiting the amount of toppings to avoid soggy crust.
I was excited to try the sweet potato fries and was pretty disappointed with what I got. They were mediocre at best - I'd pass next time. The blue cheese is super watery but the buffalo sauce was pretty good and tasty.
This place is super chill and the staff is friendly - I wish the food was a bit better since it is so darn close to home.

Finally tried The Pizza Place on Noriega (which has no sign in front?). Ordered The Spicoli (sausage and extra cheese). While expecting some grease (and generally loving it) with any sausage, I found The Spicoli bit too greasy. I did like, however, that the sausage was ground up instead of lumpy. When I called in the order, I also ordered a "Besto", The lady kept repeating at me "pesto ? pesto ?" We ended up not getting what we ordered. I'm wondering why have 2 things on the menu that sound exactly the same...
We may or not may not try it again. I really wanted to like it...
