Neighborhood: Eastwoodok place saw a few bands polay here prett impressed, good lighting and sound system, good ventilateion system
Fantastic venue! I was genuinely impressed. Came for The Roots, and loved it! The lighting is really cool, and it's very spacious and well ventilated (very important to prevent the mass sweat-a-thon that usually occurs during a concert). Easy to get close to the stage, and a lot of good vantage points. I didn't realize at first but there's a side room where you can just hang out on couches and such if you need a break or are just a lazy bum who doesn't want to stand and see your band of choice.
Clean bathrooms and friendly folks at the door and inside, definitely a winner in my book.

I've caught two acts here, Social Distortion and Public Enemy. It's definitely one of the most comfortable venues I've been in. It's the perfect compromise to bigger arena and small club. Being close to the stage is not a problem or seeing the act. The decor is nice as well and as others have mentioned--it's surprisingly clean!
This is a pretty good venue. Don't ask me why, but the name turned me off so much I expected it to suck. Still, Dinosaur Jr was playing with the original line-up for the first time in like a decade and a half, so I checked it out.
I'm glad I did. I dig the secondary room, the side-view fence (can't think of a better way to describe it), the well-spaced bars and the somewhat reasonable venue drink prices.

I agree with Chris S. Warehouse Live is the bombdigitty. No other venue in Houston is as clean, friendly, spacious and up-close-and-personal as Warehouse Live.
I've have my fair share of shows here, and I've never wasted my time getting a drink at the bar or in a long line to use a filthy ladies room. They throw happenin' after parties in the adjacent lounge for the stragglers who refuse to leave (me).
Greatest memory: meeting Wolfmother frontman Andrew Stockdale in the parking lot after he helped me get up from the ground (I wore heels to a rock concert ... what was I thinking?!)

I dig this joint too!
It has been about 6 months since my last visit to Warehouse Live. In fact, I took my 15 year old to see Trapt and Fuel. I was weary about my daughter's young and impressionable mind....seeing as I had never taken her to a venue such as this. My daughter describes it as "rawkin" (of course, she's 15)
Anyway...the air was fresh, the floors we clean and non-sticky. I was comfortable and felt I was gaining cool points just being there. Lets not forget.....I have never seen so many hot ladies and gents in one place at one time. It was unbelievable...seriously.
Thank you for the clean bathrooms with no lines. I will be back.

Reason to love Warehouse Live;
1. It's set up extremely well.
2. It's in the middle of an Asian Ethnic area with plenty of food to choose from.
3. The Security guys look out for the people who come early for a spot in line & give them numbers so that they can take that much needed bathroom break and still get in first.
4. It's immaculate as far as cleanliness (though it's still new..)
5. The sound is perfection, and the barrier isn't too far back so it still feels more intimate than other medium-sized venues.
Reasons not to like Warehouse Live:
1. The fence around the parking in the back.

Warehouse does a good job of hosting the show, but unfortunately the venue itself just doesn't lend itself very well to the medium size concerts that it hosts.
The super high ceilings take away any intimacy that a venue this size should have.
I believe it's those same ceilings that must make the sound so hard to perfect. The majority of shows I have seen here just don't sound very good. They may be loud, but are seldom clear.
Luckily, the mixed drinks are strong, it's right next to a bar for pre/post show drinks and as others have said, it is a clean venue.
Overall I just find it too sterile for a lack of better word. Music is emotional, and this place just doesn't have anything that makes it "special."
I still give it three stars because I love live music, and I do need to add that the shows in the small room are MUCH better regarding the sound.

Warehouse Live is one of the best live music venues not only in Houston, but in Texas. I've been to MANY concerts, in MANY different venues--but my "old favorite" is always Warehouse. I've been to at least 15 shows of all sorts and of all sizes at Warehouse, and have never once left disappointed. Well, at least not at the venue. ;-)
RARELY ever need to wait more than a couple minutes for a drink, and they are relatively cheap compared to other live music venues. Clean restrooms. Easy to find close parking. Easy access to the artists if you want to wait around afterwards and meet them out back. GREAT management. Excellent sound. Great vibe that is very accommodating to almost every type of music or show.
5 stars in my book. Kudos Warehouse!

I have had too many concerts pass me by due to a heavy work/family schedule that took place in this venue. Now that I finally was able to visit to see a band I really like, I feel even more bad I missed those concerts. This place is phenomenal. I love the layout, the lighting, the lounge-like areas all around and the really cool, raised bar.
It's clean - even the bathrooms! And you can actually breathe the air here without second-hand smoke or foul body odors. Or the stench of stale beer you'd expect from a place like this.
I am now spoiled. I mean, how can you possibly top this venue for a concert? Now I have to go back to the other places with a feeling of dread.

Self explanatory as to why this venue wins prizes for best in Houston on a consistent basis. They have plenty of staff to maintain its perfection and I have seen soooooo many shows here in 2007 it still blows me away when I look at my pile of ticket stubs.
Props to Scion for hosting all their free shows here. Speaking of which.. Pharoahe Monch is tonight. Woot woot!!!!
*best show experience of mine here was when me and my buddies came to watch Skinny Puppy. The reason it was the best to me is because I got into it with two big dewds that were pushy as fuk up in the front. I stood my ground and talked some sass and fight broke out. Needless to say, security was quick to break it up, treated me very nicely, cops took my statement, and those two douche bags got arrested for PI.
OOooo and I got VIP the rest of the night and a ice baggie for my jaw. You don't fuk with the Wholee! You rawk Warehouse Live!!!!!*

This place is phenomenal to watch a live show. The 2 bars on each side of the venue make it convenient to get my drink on. I've seen everything from Echo and the Bunnymen to Ghostland Observatory here, and I am never disappointed with the sound or the setup
They have a smaller stage on the opposite side of the larger elevated bar. It's perfect to watch local acts, like Deep Ella, Lanky & SkyBlue72.
The venue is still relatively new so the bathrooms are still clean which is why I give it a 5 star rating

Great mid-size venue. Hip and well laid out.
Easy parking
Two rooms. Capacity:
Ballroom- 1500
The Studio- 350
The sound sucks though. I have never been to a show that sounded good.
Real clean. Drink prices are not crazy. Ticket prices are a little too high. I blame Ticketmaster.
Good place to see a show.
when i typed in my search for this place, i accidentally typed WHOREhouse live...which, is actually fine by me. if necessary, i will be warehouse's whore. i L-O-V-E this venue. i saw bob schneider here recently...along with an awesome opening band--Jonathon Tyler and the Northern Lights. when we first walked in, (i must echo the words of previous yelpers) i noticed the *immaculate* surroundings. the floors so well-swept you could eat off them...the couches so plush you could sleep on them...the bathrooms so clean you could----well, use the bathroom in them. the sound was great, the bars set up nicely, and i loved the lighting and chic chandeliers in the "industrial"-style setting. i am only disappointed i have to miss cat power here soon due to work!

Warehouse Live is another appropriately named business. If it weren't for the giant marquee you wouldn't know one building from another in this old warehouse district. (Anyone know what goes on in those other warehouses? Warehouse type activity?)
I've never seen a cleaner music venue. For some reason it bothered my drunk friend that there was a little man walking around with a dustpan and broom sweeping up all the dropped plastic cups and straws throughout the night. He did help keep the floor remarkable clean!
I'd go back and see a show here any night. It is a nice mid-size venue and you've got a good view of the stage no matter where you stand. I ordered my ticket online and the will call line was short and I had no problems getting my ticket. The security was tight but not overbearing. Parking was relatively easy. Boil it down and Warehouse Live is just a great (clean!) place to see a show!

The best mid-sized music venue in Houston. Pristinely clean and designed with a simple elegance, it has a merch table in front and 2 bars on either side of the room - though it remains difficult to order drinks when it's flooded with concert-goers. 3-5 minutes may not seem like a long time, but I'm the kind o' guy who likes his alcohol at the ready. Whether the club is half-full (The Sounds) or packed to capacity (YYY's, Bloc Party) the crowd is always fun and into it. And there's a certain wistfulness I feel when I see an underage young'un sidling up to her friends, giddy at the opportunity for a clandestine smoke or cocktail, coerced from some gullible rube. Good times...
My only gripe is that if you get there late, the music becomes a bit less awesome by the time it reaches the back.
